Let the annual Mate against Mate, State against State talk begin!
With yesterday's announcement of the NSW 40 man train-on squad, jaws across the Australian Eastern Seaboard began to flap, wondering the direction of the NSW Selectors. Stalwarts of years past are gone. Names like Mason, Anasta, Kimmorley, Hindmarsh, and more, are out. In the their place, youth steps in with the on-field performance of men like Terry Campese, Colin Best, Keith Galloway & John Sutton earning them a shot at Blues glory. Whilst many have wondered why the proven reps have been overlooked, Queensland's 3 year dominance of the event has made it vital for the Selectors to shake things up. However there are still some questions that the Board will face. Who will replace injured selections Brett Stewart and Josh Morris? And will Jamie Lyon – whose request to be disqualified from selection was ignored – be 100% committed to the cause?
Here's a look at the chosen Squad:
Will these men lead NSW to victory? Or have the Selectors made a huge mistake banking on the inexperienced?
