The brilliant 40 – 0 score line of the 2008 grand final victory over the Storm is a world away from the Manly Sea Eagles, who continue trying to justify they are not a one man team in the 2009 Telstra Premiership.

The problem remains, they cannot win. They look lethargic and un-inspired, where’s the hunger! The Sea-Eagles have collected 4 from a possible 16 points so far this season, leaving them second from the spoon with the more energetic Canberra Raiders and two points clear of the struggling Sharks.

Manly do have the quality in their side to fight back and make a real honest effort for the remaining 2/3 of the season. After last years performance they are not a club that should be dwelling at the bottom of the Telstra Premiership.

The weekend’s 22 – 8points loss to Melbourne Storm at Brookvale had Manly without four of their 2008 title winning personnel, Melbourne were without nine! Is this to say that there is a problem with the mental preparation of last years champions, have they been ignorant on the back of last years’ success….

Manly need to bounce back and bounce back quickly but with the Broncos in Brisbane on Sunday the task doesn’t get much harder.

Dogs and Tigers in a cage fight!

This was one for the supporter’s, fans and purists alike. A great game of footy!

Both Ennis and Farrah had Origin attire to play for, and both stood up respectively for their sides. Ennis had a great game, scoring a try and assisting with the boot. Farrah was not to be outdone though, assisting two tries and making 38 tackles.

The battle went right to the wire and it was Canterbury Bulldog veteran Hazem El-Masri with two tries and a game winning sideline conversion that tamed the Tigers.

The Bulldogs won a gripping match 22- 20 versus the Tigers.
