QLD's stunning dominance of the betting leading up to game one of the State of Origin series in Melbourne tonight (Wed) has continued with a Centrebet punter on Sydney's Lower North Shore wagering $100,000.00 on the Maroons to win a fourth-straight series at $1.48!
The huge bet forced the bookmaker to shorten Qld's series odds into $1.45 - the shortest it has been before a ball is kicked in Origin history, with NSW out the door to $2.75!
Centrebet media chief Neil Evans said the wager arrived late Tuesday night and followed a flood of money on Qld over the last 48 hours, including a bet of $45,000.00 from a NSW North Coast punter at $1.50, and several between $2,000.00 and $10,000.00 at $1.50 and $1.48! "This is the most one-sided betting platform we have ever witnessed in Origin history," Evans said. "In fact, it's getting embarrassing for NSW, considering the Blues look to have a competitive side on paper!"
In match betting for Game 1, Qld has firmed from an opening $1.53 into $1.49 after a stream of money, running 5:1, with the Blues easing from an opening $2.55 out to $2.63!
Evans said nearly $350,000.00 had been wagered across all options on Centrebet, with still a day to go - with Qld commanding 94 per cent of all monies!
