WA favourite and Group 1 sprint star of the Autumn Scenic Blast has been heavily backed on Centrebet to win next Tuesday night’s (AEST) prestigious King’s Stand Stakes to open the time-honoured Royal Ascot carnival in the UK!

Centrebet media chief and race analyst Neil Evans said Scenic Blast had firmed from $6.00 into $4.00 in King’s Stand betting, and was dominating early money!

“Obviously a lot of the money is from here, but we’ve taken nearly $10,000.00 in bets through the week on the Newmarket winner, and only a sprinkling through the rest of the main chances,” Evans said. “Several smart punters have come back at different times, believing he has a real class edge on this lot, and right now Scenic Blast commands 75 per cent of all turnover!”

Amour Propre has eased on Centrebet out to $4.50, while the talented Fleeting Spirit is also on the mild drift out to $6.50!

Evans said Scenic Blast had also been well-specked in the carnival-ending Golden Jubilee Stakes late on Saturday week night, firming from $7.00 down to $6.00, although the best mover has been Hong Kong champion Sacred Kingdom who has shortened from $6.00 into $5.50 to join the impressive J J The Jet Plane on the front line.

“Sadly, though, punters are not the slightest bit interested in Takeover Target since his flop in Singapore behind Sacred Kingdom and Rocket Man,” Evans said. “He’s $8.00 out to $9.00, and the complete lack of money – even at that price - says his Royal Ascot swansong will be all in vain!”
