Australia’s mortgage holders can expect no change in the official RBA Interest Rate tomorrow judging by the Centrebet money trail, with the always dominant favourite of “No Change” still being heavily backed from $1.08 to a red-hot $1.04!
Centrebet media chief and analyst Neil Evans said even though the official rate staying the same opened a prohibitive $1.08 it still didn’t deter big players taking what seems in financial circles a near certainty! “There have been plenty of bets – big and small - on the favourite,” Evans said. “The only other early interest from punters came for the 25 basis points cut which ultimately eased from $4.50 out to $5.50 – and Any Increase which shortened early in the month from $34.00 into $26.00!” Evans said.
For the first since it opened RBA Rates betting nearly a year ago, Centrebet accepted multi bets involving the monthly Reserve decision!
“One punter is eagerly awaiting the RBA’s rubber stamp after he invested $5,500.00 on the Dragons (+ 12.5) in the NRL against the Roosters at $1.06 - into Roger Federer to beat Ivo Karlovic at $1.08 - into Geelong with 28.5 start against St Kilda in yesterday’s AFL showdown at $1.14 into tomorrow’s RBA rate Staying the Same at $1.08! The dividend is $1.41!
“The same punter then returned and had $4,000.00 on the same combination successfully adding the Melbourne Storm (+ 12.5) against Newcastle at $1.08 for a final dividend of $1.52!”
Meanwhile, the national economy market asking punters to bet on the recession line still has an official recession (2 consecutive negative GDP quarters) as the $2.00 outsider, with No Recession priced at $1.70!
