Centrebet media chief Neil Evans said after a little early interest on Australia, punters have spent the last 48 hours surging into the Draw, backing it from $2.25 into a hot $1.90 favourite! One-nil down in the series, the Aussies have eased from $2.65 right out to $3.10, while England – without batsman Kevin Pieterson - is unwanted, drifting from $4.65 out to $5.00!
“Surely, Australia will again pick Nathan Hauritz because it’s going to be a herculean job winning this Test on a such a docile strip, and with showers predicted,” Evans says. “Punters are predicting England will try and bat Australia out of the contest, and be very content to walk away with a Draw. Australia’s best hope is to win the toss, put a big score on the board, and hope the wicket turns on the final day!”
Recent ‘Draw’ bets on Centrebet include $10,000.00 at $2.00, $5,000.00 at $2.05, $3,000.00 at $2.20, and $2,500.00 at $2.15, while even UK customers are tipping a stalemate, with bets taken of 1250 Pounds at $2.25, 1000 Pounds at $2.10 and scores of 500 Pound wagers from $2.25 down to $2.05!
Evans said the special ‘When will the Test Finish’ market is even flagging a Draw, with Day 5, Session 3 backed into a $1.70 favourite ahead of Day 5, Session 2 at $6.00!
Meanwhile in series betting, England has eased fractionally, but is still a $2.20 fancy to re-claim the Ashes, with a Drawn series and an Australian victory now both quoted at $3.35!
