MELBOURNE OPEN FAV AGAINST NEWCASTLE DESPITE INGLIS CLOUD, BUT DRIFT TO $9.00 IN PREMIERSHIP BETTING

The embattled Melbourne Storm has opened a $1.75 favourite on Centrebet to beat the Knights ($2.07) in Newcastle in round 23 despite a massive cloud hanging over game-breaker Greg Inglis’ playing future!
Centrebet today eased the Storm from $7.00 out to $9.00, now behind Manly on the $8.00 line of premiership betting, and a mile away from rampant $2.50 premiership favourite St George-Illawarra!
“If Inglis’ immediate future hits rock-bottom, the Storm could soon be out in double figures, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Newcastle, despite their poor recent form, gets very close to Melbourne in head-to-head betting this week,” Centrebet media chief Neil Evans said.
In other crucial round 23 games, the NQ Cowboys are a narrow $1.85 favourite against the Bulldogs, while Souths and the Gold Coast cannot be split, opening $1.90 equal favourites!
Resurgent Parramatta continues to shorten in premiership betting, firming another two points to $14.00 after being $21.00 on the weekend!
