There is an abundance of sport this weekend, from Friday night footy; where the competition fairy-tailed Eels will battle the travelling Titans for a chance to get up against the Dogs, and then to Saturday where the Dragons take on the Broncos at Suncorp to get a shot at finals veterans the Storm. This will be a fast and entertaining weekend of Rugby league; don’t miss a bet of the action!
Let’s start with the NRL. Firstly you’ve got the clash of the most improved and in-form side the Parramatta Eels taking on the Titans. Jarryd Hayne is playing the best rugby in the NRL and has positioned himself as one of the games shining stars. The Titans have firepower and more than enough talent in Prince, Campbell and Bailey to run around their opposition and grab the elusive win at the SFS tonight.
It will come down to who wants it more, who can play up to expectation and who will handle the pressure… Can the Titans stop the masterful Jarryd Hayne while keeping an eye on Luke Burt?? It is sure to be a display of fireworks between these two sides as they push for a spot in the finals.
The Dragons versus the Broncos will be another intense game for the viewers. The Dragons have been strong and consistent this season. With the likes of Jamie Soward, “Big Dell”, Hornby, Weyman and Creagh the Bennett run pack will be firing to get a repeat of their last visit at Suncorp where they dusted the Broncos 25 - 12. The Broncos are an experienced finals side and have been a quality side with quality players that can deliver from all angles of the park for many seasons past. Broncos have the home game advantage and the skill to grab the win at Suncorp Stadium.
Who will want it? The Broncos desperately want the win in front of Bennett and the Suncorp faithful, while the Dragons will want to continue with the form that had them a top-tier side for the 2009 NRL season.
We can move on to the other form of the oval ball now and focus on the Tri - Nations. Australia can’t take anything form the upset win against the Springboks, they need to show a true presence that is capable of winning a world-cup. Unfortunately in this Tri-Nations that has yet to be seen. It will be a big test playing New Zealand in New Zealand but this is what the Wallabies need to show they can play and handle quality rugby. There have been a few changes to the Wallaby line-up as Robbie Deans attempts to find his best attack; the most noted being Will Genia’s promotion to the halves.
Will Australia be able to restrict the All-Blacks and record their second win of the Tri-Nations? Or will the New Zealanders be ready to run rampant after their last home defeat?
Don’t Forget: The Round Ball is in motion once again… All the big European Leagues are back: Seri A, La Liga and the English Premier League. It’s too early to draw any realistic conclusions however it would seem that Manchester United without Ronaldo will struggle more than they believed. You cannot just replace 30+ goals a season. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham look strong early as do big money spenders Manchester City. There is a wide variety of betting markets and selections available for football around the world – Including next years 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
AFL is all Victoria - don’t Miss the AFL finals with hot favourites Geelong out to beat Collingwood and season sensationalists St Kilda to do the damage over the Western Bulldogs!
