TWO-HORSE WAR IN GUINEAS BETTING ON CENTREBET!

The two-horse betting war on Centrebet continues ahead of tomorrow’s Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) with punters launching into both race favourite Denman at the market-high price of $3.00 and rising star Trusting ($4.75)!

Centrebet media chief and race analyst Neil Evans said nearly $25,000.00 in bets had arrived for both gallopers in just the last six hours, with pre-post stakes now nearing $70,000.00!
“Punters are steaming into the high-value market. Remember Denman opened in the final field at $2.80, but the more we look at this race, the more we push the horse out, and punters are lapping up $3.00! Trusting too has firmed from $4.85 into $4.65, but pushed back out to $4.75 where a “tonne” of business has been done!” Evans said.
Bets today include $6,000.00 ($2.90), $3,400.00 ($3.00), $2,500.00 ($3.00) and $3,000.00 ($3.00) all on Denman, while wagers for Trusting include $7,000.00 ($4.75), $3,500.00 ($4.85) and $2,500.00 ($4.75)!
The longer price push came earlier for the Bart Cummings-trained So You Think who firmed from an opening $11.00 into $8.00 after a string of bets between $1500.00 and $3,000.00. “Yes, he could be anything, but not on this day!”
Meanwhile, the Mark Cavanagh-trained ruling $4.00 Cox Plate fancy Whobegotyou continues to be smashed on Centrebet to win the Group 1 Yalumba Stakes at the opening quote of $2.50! “Amazingly, he holds 92 per cent of all fixed odds money, including bets today of $7,000.00, $5,000.00 and $2,500.00!
Remember, Whobegotyou had to make a long sustained run around Caulfield in the Underwood three weeks back in a big field and became unbalanced at vital stages! Yet he still finished in front of Predatory Pricer who’s in the Cox Plate up to his ears and was subsequently just bloused by 2007 Melbourne Cup winner Efficient at Flemington last Saturday! In a much smaller field and what amounts to a weakish Yalumba depth-wise, Damien Oliver can watch any horse in the race, and if they pull up in the middle part, he’ll simple hit the gas earlier and make it a true staying test from the 1000m.
And the Whobegotyou betting ‘train’ continues rolling in to the Cox Plate (2040m) on Oct 24, with a Melbourne punter betting $15,000.00 at $4.00 through the week, but food for thought is the long-range almighty WA ‘firmer’ Scenic Shot who has been backed to win nearly $750,000.00 on Centrebet, shortening from an opening $101.00 a couple of months back into around $16.00!
The betting in the most competitive Group 1 of the day at Caulfield tomorrow – the Toorak Hcp (1600m) - has turned around after a sustained early push for last-start Flemington winner Raheeb, with sharp punters jumping all over the opening $7.50 and backing him into a $5.50 favourite!
But today several thousand has arrived in bets for both Stradbroke Hcp winner Black Piranha who has firmed from $8.00 into $7.00, and Raffaello who’s been trimmed from $7.00 down to $6.00!
And both Wanted ($6.50 into $5.50) and the resuming flyer Paprika ($6.50 into $6.00) have been heavily backed today to win the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1000m)!
