Centrebet media chief Neil Evans said with punters queuing up to back Tiger from an opening $2.75 favourite on Centrebet into $2.40, nearly every player in the Masters field has drifted out, except for Senden who’s been tipped in some quarters to tame Kingston Heath, and bring down the greatest player the game has seen!
“We’ve taken a tonne of bets on Senden, including $5,000.00 at $19.00, $3,500.00 at $19.00, $2,000.00 at $17.00 and a few close to $1,000.00 at the opening $21.00, and many more smaller wagers across a range of prices,” Evans said. “Senden’s a real pure striker of the ball, and he actually got into $16.00, but the constant flow of bets for Tiger means we are able to keep every other player in the field at the most competitive of prices!”
Senden is a $3.00 equal favourite with Adam Scott to be the leading Queenslander at the Masters, while Geoff Ogilvy is $4.50 to be the top Victorian and youngster James Nitties is a $4.50 favourite to lead home the NSW players!
Evans said scores of bets from $100.00 up to $5,000.00 had arrived for Tiger Woods – his first appearance Down Under since 1998! But Tiger is paying a juicy $5.25 on Centrebet to be leading after the first round.
Further out in the field, high-price betting interest has come for Marc Leishman who has shortened from $41.00 down to $36.00, and Steven Bowditch who has firmed dramatically from $101.00 into $56.00!
