Centrebet media chief Neil Evans said Ricky Ponting’s Australians – despite being labelled a B grade squad – has firmed dramatically from $1.33 into $1.20, and is threatening to start shorter as punters, knowing the home side hasn’t lost a Test at the GABBA in 21 years, wipe the Windies’ bid off the planet!
“It’s both unprecedented and rather sad a touring West Indian squad can be completely wiped by the betting world ahead of a once-pedastalled series,” Evans said. “It doesn’t matter whether captain Chris Gayle’s ready to play or not, punters have decided Australia will win this match – and the series – in a cakewalk!”
And the series betting is similarly reflective, with Australia shortening from $1.16 into $1.10, while a Drawn series is quoted at $11.00 and the Windies again a whopping $15.00!
