Front-running star Lucky Secret remains $3.60 favourite on Centrebet to win Saturday’s Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot after drawing gate eight!
Centrebet media chief and race analyst Neil Evans said Lucky Secret should be able to get across to the front with little difficulty, and prove enormously hard to run down around a track that will suit!
“He’s clearly the one to beat, although the rising WA star Waratahs Secret ($4.60) – heavily backed on Centrebet already from $5.50 down – will also be suited, drawn alongside in nine,” Evans said. “The intersting runner is the mare Ortensia facing a stiff task coming back from the mile of the Railway to six furlongs here … and despite drawing the good six barrier, eases from $4.40 out to $5.00!
Evans said he expected Idyllic Prince ($6.00) to ease in betting, especially if the money comes hard for the favourite!
