After an amazing Weekend of international racing at Sha Tin, racing eyes are now focussed on the United kingdom for the King George Chase and The Welsh National...
The Amazing day of International Racing at Sha-Tin has been and gone, but not without some truly wonderful stories; most notably the win of Good Ba Ba who blazed saddles on the outside to win his third Honk Kong Mile.
On a more disappointing note Australia’s big three power sprinters All Silent, Scenic Blast and Apache Cat failed in the Hong Kong Sprint (1200m) with all missing out on a place! It was left to Sacred Kingdom to be first past the post followed closely by the Beadman ride “One World” who flew home for a great run second.
There are still many more race meetings to take us through the festive season;
Firstly, The King George VI Chase at Kempton on the 27th of December where Kauto Star is a deserving early favourite ($1.73) followed by the impressive Imperial Commander ($6.00). The race will have some good value runners and if you have the early mail Get On, at Centrebet’s early bird prices!
The Welsh National is the next top race on the calendar – 29th December. The race is already wide open in the betting market, Le Beau Bai has favouritism ($8.00) followed closely by The Tother One ($9.00), Beroni ($10.00), What a Friend ($10.00) and Our Monty ($11.00). The rest of the field is from $13.00 to a massive $251.00 for Maidstone Mixture.
