Top of the table clash is on for A-League this weekend when Sydney FC face Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night. This will be a real contest and a show of character for Sydney coming off a win against Wellington last week.

Melbourne started the season slowly and had a couple of results that they really needed to put behind them, since doing this they have raised the bar and a definitely the team to beat at the business end of the season. Melbourne is coming off a stunning 3 – 0 win away to Central Coast Mariners, a performance that truly showed the quality and strength of the squad. Saturday night will also see Muscat playing in his 500th professional game and the Victory boys won’t want to let their captain down!

Sydney looks to be shaking off the bad patch they were going through after a couple of strong performances. Even though Sydney is sitting in 2nd place and will remain there no matter the result, the seven losses they have had is a cause for concern. Teams go through bad periods but in a league as tight as the A-League to lose three games on the trot is not acceptable for a top side and needs improvement.

Sydney FC will be looking to get some back against the Victory as their first meeting in Sydney saw the Victory steal the points with an impressive 3 – 0 win, something Sydney hasn’t forgotten!
