After a superb showing in the first test Australia struggled with the bat to mount a serious total. A lowly 127 in the first innings was not overshadowed as Pakistan failed to take the game with some un-orthodox style batting that had them back in the field after only reaching 333, still a 204 run lead over the ‘Baggy Greens’.
Australia took to the second innings with a lot to prove and with some fight from the tail to help Hussey at the crease there is still a slight glimmer of hope for the Aussies to take the second test.
Nerves had the better of Watson again as he was hurried into a shot just shy of his second ton.
Pakistan will need to hold their own and not leak too many runs on the 4th day if they are to really put Australia in a position of no return… With Hussey on fire (after being dropped 3 times) and Siddle biding his time on the other end, this could be the turning point that gives Australia a chance!
Centrebet has an Australia at $3.35 outsiders compared with Pakistan at favoured odds of $1.33 (as of the morning of the 4th day).
