LABOR STORMS BACK INTO $1.38 FAVOURITE UNDER GILLARD GOVERNMENT!

The once under-pressure Labor government – a $1.50 chance to win the next Federal Election last night – has now stormed into $1.38 favourite on Centrebet to be returned to power under a Julia Gillard-led party!
The once under-pressure Labor government – a $1.50 chance to win the next Federal Election last night – has now stormed into $1.38 favourite on Centrebet to be returned to power under a Julia Gillard-led party!
And the Coalition, which had enjoyed great betting momentum in the last month tightening right in to $2.52, has dramatically eased out to $2.95 as Opposition leader Tony Abbott prepares to take on the one Labor identity he would have rather side-stepped.
The Line betting on actual seats – which was just – 2.5 seats when the markets were suspended last night – re-opened at – 5.5 seats, but just a short time ago, a regular election punter bet $3,300.00 on Labor (- 5.5 seats) at $1.85! The seat count Line is now – 6.5!
“This is the most extraordinary decline of a once popular PM in Australian political history, and proves our “very connected” clients who wanted to boldly back Ms Gillard to become PM as far back as February have been proven stunningly correct!” Centrebet media chief and analyst Neil Evans said. Ms Gillard was a hot $1.18 fancy to slaughter Mr Rudd ($4.50) if the proposed ballot had of occurred!
Four months after a small group of punters sensationally backed Julia Gillard on Centrebet to become Prime Minister BEFORE the next Federal Election, their vision and "mail" has been realised in spectacular fashion.
Evans recalled how earlier in the year, 'connected' punters rang the Centrebet office pleading for a market on Ms Gillard becoming PM before Australians went to the polls! "One client, in the biggest bets on Ms Gillard, staked $2,500.00 in a series of wagers around the $3.75 and $4.00 mark, in what now appears to be an incredible bit of work!" Evans said.
"The amazing thing was at the time we were working on a timeless 'First Female PM' market, in which Ms Gillard would be the obvious favourite, but we were staggered when the clients told us they wanted to back her to take over from Mr Rudd BEFORE the election!"
Soon after, in a swathe of national publicity including on Channel Nine's Today program, Ms Gillard denied the move, claiming "punters have done their dough!" "Now we know the punters who have done their dough are the ones who naturally went the other way, with a heap of money following to say there was no way in the world a once popular first-term Labor PM could be torn down by his own team in an election year!" Evans added.
"Only 24 hours ago, a big election client bet $15,000.00 on Labor to win at $1.50 - I wonder if he knew Ms Gillard was formally on her way in!"
Ms Gillard's price on Centrebet wavered from as short as $3.50 out to as high as $5.25 at a time when analysts, commentators and even the Labor machine were flatly claiming such a change was just not possible!
