Round 8 of the NBL Championship kicks off on Friday night with two crucial games including the Blaze home to the Kings as well as the 36ers home to the Townsville Crocodiles.

Round 8 of the NBL Championship kicks off on Friday night with two crucial games including the Blaze home to the Kings as well as the 36ers home to the Townsville Crocodiles. First up the Sydney Kings travel to the Gold Coast to take on the Blaze in a must win encounter for both teams. The Blaze currently sit seventh and the Kings are eighth on the NBL ladder, and a win for either team is crucial in order to jump start their season. The Blaze are currently $1.55 favourites with Centrebet to win the match, whereas the Kings represent the odds of $2.45. The $2.45 may represent short odds for the Kings as they haven’t tasted success since their opening match of the season.

The second match on Friday night is the Adelaide 36ers against the Townsville Crocodiles. Centrebet currently has the 36ers favourites at $1.60 in comparison to the Crocodiles at $2.33. Saturday night represents a quick back-up for the Gold Coast Blaze, who travel to Melbourne to face the Tigers after playing the Kings the night before at home. The betting will likely be impacted by Friday nights result, so if the Blaze dominate the Kings on Friday, expect their head to head odds to shorten for Saturday’s game.

Also on Saturday night is the Cairns Taipans hosting the Wollongong Hawks at the Cairns Convention Centre. The Taipans are coming off a most impressive victory over last year’s champions the Wildcats in Perth. They limited Perth to just 64 points and outplayed the Wildcats in every aspect. Expect Cairns to take that confidence into Saturday night’s match, and with the odds of $1.60 on offer with Centrebet, the Taipans are a good bet.

On Sunday evening the Sydney Kings host the New Zealand Breakers at the Entertainment Centre, with the Breakers holding favouritism with Centrebet at $1.60 in comparison to the Kings at $2.33. The final match of Round 8 is the Perth Wildcats home to the Townsville Crocodiles.
