Information on the 2012 Olympic sports, venues and events

During the 2012 London Olympic Games there will be a large number of venues used throughout London and the United Kingdom. Many of these venues will be within the newly designed Olympic Park precinct, which will feature the main Olympic stadium, aquatics centre, velodrome, hockey centre and more.

Many existing venues will be used for the 2012 Olympics, including Lords Cricket Ground, Wembley Stadium, Hyde Park and Wimbledon Tennis Club.

Venues outside of London are also being used due to logistical reasons. Venues such as Newcastle’s St James’ Park and Manchester’s Old Trafford are two well-known football stadiums being utilised for the Games. Wales will also play host to footballing action, with the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff also taking part as an Olympic venue.

2012 Olympic Events
