A-LEAGUE SOCCER BETTING
A-LEAGUE SOCCER FOOTBALL BETTING - THE BASICS
Centrebet offers A-League betting odds throughout the football competition between rival clubs from Australia and New Zealand. Football Australia runs the A-League, and the tournament fills the void that the National Soccer League left when it folded in 2004.
The wheels were set in motion for a new national football (or soccer as it was known then) competition in 2004. These plans culminated in the launch of the Hyundai A-League on Friday 26th August, 2005.
The decision to start a fresh, new competition began the revitalisation of the game at the domestic level in Australia. At the end of the inaugural season, Dwight Yorke-led Sydney FC were crowned champions.

A-LEAGUE SOCCER FOOTBALL BETTING – SEASON 2 REVIEW
Melbourne’s stunning 6-0 Grand Final victory capped off a wonderful year for the A-League, with crowd attendances and television ratings significantly higher than in season one.
Newcastle’s Nick Carle was awarded the Johnny Warren medal as the player’s player of the year. Carle also received the Goal of the Year award for his Round 10 effort against Grand Finalists Adelaide United. The Novocastrian maestro’s appearance in the Socceroos’ 2-0 win against China alongside fellow A-League players Archie Thompson and Jade North demonstrates the growing prestige of the competition.
Despite the Victory’s dominance in 2007, they will have to wait until 2008 to contest Asian football’s greatest prize – the AFC Champions League. Inaugural Champions Sydney FC and Minor Premiers Adelaide United will be the first two teams to represent Australia in the competition.
Preparation for the Champions League has been less than ideal, with both teams entering the competition under new coaches. The timing of Olympic qualifiers has also affected a number of players from both squads. Despite the setbacks, neither team looks overawed in the competition and Sydney FC’s 2-2 draw with the Urawa Red Diamonds, dubbed “Asia’s Manchester United” speaks volumes for the quality of football in the A-League.
