HISTORY

The Australian A-League enters it's fourth season in 2008. After the disbandment of the National Soccer League many wondered if football - the World Game - will once again have a place in Australia. Then Football Federation Australia announced the revelation that captured the heart of the nation - the A-League! Riding the Socceroos success at the 2006 World Cup, football once again became a mainstay of every sport lover. Eight teams make up the competition, seven spread across Australia and one in nearby New Zealand. International stars such as Dwight Yorke, Juninho and Romario have crossed the globe to ply their trade on Aussie soil. This year, reigning champions, the Newcastle Jets look to become the first back-to-back trophy holders. And they'll be campaigning with Centrebet's official sponsorship!
