BIG PUNTERS LINE UP PROFOUND BEAUTY TO GIVE WELD HIS 3RD CUP

Big punters have lined up the Dermot Weld-trained Profound Beauty in a staggering mid-afternoon charge, with the horse backed to win well over $1 million, Centrebet slashing the five-year-old mare's price from $8.50 into $7.00!
"There's been one bet of $100,000.00 to win three-quarters-of-a-million, and plenty of others followed, Centrebet media director Neil Evans said. "The hype around this horse is incredible, it started earlier in the week and he was a very popular runner at the traditional Call of the Card! And just when Mad Rush ($5.00) was threatening to tie up favouritism for the Great Race, Profound Beauty is now on the move big-time! One-time favourite Septimus has eased out further to $6.00 (from $5.50) second elect on Centrebet!
Evans said a Profound Beauty win in the Cup was starting to look like a "very ugly" result!
While big punters line up the best of the UK runners, smaller and more middle-ground punters are still warming to the Lloyd Williams-owned Zipping and Saturday's MacKinnon Stakes runner-up Barbaricus who have both firmed strongly in the market today!
Evans said there had been a steady stream of money all day on Zipping and he's firmed from $17.00 down to $15.00, while Barbaricus is looming as the best "Down Under" hope in the Cup, shortening from $17.00 to $15.00 as well today after more good money!
"Both Barbaricus and Zipping are looming as big double-figure pay-outs if either can land the Cup," Evans said. "And it's no surprise, punters are swinging back to the Caulfield Cup as the best home-grown formline.
"Barbaricus ran a mighty third in that race, Mad Rush stormed home from the back to run fourth, Nom du Jeu was a big finishing second. They've all been very well backed for tomorrow's Cup."
But in the last hour, some big punters have surged heavily into Profound Beauty, and the Dermot Weld-Glenn Boss big hope has trimemd up from $8.50 into $7.00!
Evans said NZ's AJC Derby winner Nom du Jeu had eased out fractionally to $9.00 today.
