Superbowl betting has exceeded all expectations, as we are allready holding more money this year before a game has been played then we did for last years entire season !!

The New England Patriots were well backed at $4.00 but drifted to $4.75 favorites as the season commences due to poor pre-season form. With an aging list it remains to be seen whether the Pats have one more shot at glory left in them. On the second line of betting Dallas ($9) have been well supported whilst both the Chargers and Colts have proven hard to lay. With a competitive season on the cards there has been plenty of punters shopping for value, with Tampa Bay ($26), New Orleans ($21), Minnesota ($26), and the NY Jets ($51) the best backed by speculators.

The 2008/2009 NFL Season kicked off last Thursday with the reigning Superbowl Champions the NY Giants hosting the Redskins. Punters had no hesitation declaring the Giants over the line, with plenty of large bets on the Giants at 1.47 and the Skins never really threatened, the Giants holding them at bay to post a 9 point win.

Most of the favorites were supported over the weekend and with 10 covering the spread, punters have started the season on a winning note.

Punters steamed in to Buffalo at 1.91 and they were the best backed of Sunday's early games and cruised to a 34-10 victory, however we received some respite when the Lions lost as a well backed 3 point favorite at Atlanta. This was just a storm in a teacup as wagering really picked up on the late games. Dallas will possibly be a bookie's nightmare this season and their comprehensive 28-10 win over Cleveland, was again luckily partly mitigated by Jake Delhomme's last second heroics, earning Carolina a 26-24 victory over the Chargers. As can be expected the 3 largest betting games of the week were Sunday and Monday Night's encounters, the Colts started us off well, they were backed from -9.5 to -10.5 but never gave a yelp as a superb defensive effort by the Bears saw them salute 29-13. However Monday night was a different story with both the Packers and Broncos well supported and
with 2 comprehensive victories, we ended up on the wrong side of the weekly ledger.

With Tom Brady's season ending knee injury, Superbowl betting has been flipped on it's ear, the patriots out to 9.50 and dallas have been installed as $5.75 favorites in what should be a fascinating season.
